Tropic of Cancer

I read and finished Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller. There aren't enough words...let's just say, I'm not a fan. I understand this book changed people's lives, and I'd hate to read someone crapping on Catcher in the Rye or The Metamorphosis, but the lack of anything happening and the over use of the word "cunt" really just grated on me.

My suggestion: pass.

I highly doubt this...

Based on a blurb from a novel I've been working on my entire life...

Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs

I finished Chuck Klosterman's pop-culture take on sociology over the weekend. Was good fun, didn't always agree with his opinions (and I wasn't expecting opinions at all) but it was good. I read a good called The Long Tail a while ago that proclaimed it belonged on the shelf next to Freakonomics and The Tipping Point, which it didn't, but Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs does. And that's a hell of a compliment.

So I'm going to try to document my reading here also. I had a My Daily Photo pages, but I'm shite at taking pictures, and I really don't want to bother with the USB cord everyday and all of that, so I'll just make it easy and post it here.

The first is done.

So...for those who have known me anytime over the last four years I'm sure I've talked about the novel I've been working on for...well four years. It's finally done and is being edited/critiqued by a few close friends, family, industry insiders, etc.

It'll be sent out to be copyrighted within the next few weeks, and I'll begin working on the cover, and the douchey author photo and bio write up. All that good stuff.

As soon as the copyright is taken care of I'll get it up on lulu.com, which is the site I'm self-publishing service I'll use while I'm shopping it out, and you can all forward the link to your closest and dearest friends, family and complete strangers.
